Skyping

(Oh my god, she posted twice in one day? What the hell is happening???? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO I AM ANYMORE. I figured I should just post it all at once, otherwise it would depart my brain forever, never to return. And this shit is important, too.)

I had a Skype conference call with a client earlier today. Skype calls are awesome because you don't need to shower AND you don't need to wear pants!

Unfortunately, though, since I was having this call from my office at home, it looked like this much of the time:

No pants, though.....

Skype is a thing that's suddenly entered my house's vocabulary. The xbox does it, you see, and we have friends who moved away, so the theory is to skype with them to play games. But the camera's zoom keeps changing when the dog goes past. And she doesn't know where our friends are. It's very involved.

We've had this discussion before! I don't have any doors inside my house, I couldn't keep them out if I tried

Ok, now this is going to sound kinda contentious and rather shitty, but please understand that I am a bit of a "handyman" and the first thing I think of is, that if it's your business and it's important, a simple set of french louvered doors can be installed in the doorway to the room you use as your office. True, you might need to scroll out the space for the hinges with a simple router to sink them into the doorway, but that is not really hard, then some quick pilot holes for the screws, and some nice decorative brass 2 way hinges can be installed. Be sure to use spacers to make thee doors level with the floor.. and voila! A private office.

Is this one of those things that a woman just wants to complain and have people just listen and give sympathy, without someone trying to fix the problem or some man giving the advice to fix it? I always get that one wrong.
