Let's talk about the number 42

42? Why are we talking about that number, you ask? Well, no reason, actually. I just thought I'd take a moment, on this day of the year that has absolutely no significance whatsoever, to randomly talk about a number that has no meaning to me. Hey, I'm a Bookkeeper! I like numbers! 42 is totally NOT a prime number, you know; in fact it is not only divisible by another number other than itself and 1, it is divisible by FIVE MORE THAN THAT. It's really a great number, when you think about it. But you probably should try not to think about it too much. That's my plan for the day, anyway.

Here are some interesting facts about the number 42. I don't feel like citing my source, so just trust me that I know what I'm talking about and/or I know how to google and then copy and paste:
  1. In Mathematics, number 42 is called an abundant number. For what reason? Let’s say, it is equivalent to one semester in college to find out why it’s called an abundant number.
  2. In Chemistry, number 42 is the atomic number of molybdenum.
  3. The angle of rainbow is 42 degrees.
  4. A 3×3x3 magic cube has a sum of 42.
  5. In the Ancient Egyptian religion, there are 42 gods and goddesses to represent the principles of Ma’at.
  6. In the bible, there are 42 generations in the Genealogy of Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew.
  7. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has 42 illustrations
  8. 42 is a magic number for programmers. In the TIFF image file format, it is the second 16-bit word of every file.
  9. Tiling a plane using regular hexagons occupy all in all 42 squares.
  10. In the Book of Revelations, it is mentioned that the Beast will hold dominion over the Earth for 42 days
Wow, that's actually kind of weird. In a search of interesting facts about the number 42, I come up with 10 results and none of them mention Douglas Adams. Isn't that weird? You would think that would be #1 in the list. I mean, fuck math... who the hell cares about MATH? You know who fucking hates math? Child 1. And whatever Child 1 hates, we all should hate. Because he's an angel child who has psychic abilities and we should all trust whatever he says about anything. That actually makes my profession kind of awkward, but it's okay because I'm in therapy and eventually I'll work that one out.

And now, please enjoy this video by the 1980's band Level 42. OH, I bet you thought this was going to be Something About You, but NO! As a child of the 1980's I had the privilege of actually listening to all this crap on the radio when it was new, and I like this Level 42 song better than the one they're famous for (One Hit Wonder. Thank you, SongPop for that reminder). Apparently there is no actual MTV (when they used to play music) video of this song, so this was the best I could do. I could have found you a live version, but apparently this dude fucking sucked live. And by "apparently" I mean "OH MY GOD."

Happy today! Yay!

I'm posting this from my new phone. I have no idea how it will look. I downloaded the Blogger app (ap?) and as far as I can tell there's no preview option.
Also? I'm hoping there's a picture attached to this post somehow. If so, I would just like to say that I think i can do better than 100.
Also? It's really late right now and I can't sleep for some reason.
Also I think I just added a location to this post but just so you know, that's not really where I am right now. I'm actuaqlly at my house. So don't worry.
Also? I don't know, but tell the people you love that you love them, because one day you'll all be dead and you need to make sure they know how you feel.
Also?
No that's it. Happy whatever today means!!!!

Literally just making an appearance

Quick! Before I forget....

Tonight we went to Karaoke, and I sung both Rehab and It's Still Rock and Roll to Me, and both times I had to follow the chick who works there and who can sing like you can't believe. The first time I said, "Please don't make me follow DeeCee the next time??" and they laughed and thought it was funny, and THEN??? She did fucking Lady Marmalade and I had to follow that shit... AGAIN. I totally yelled at the both of them for it. They thought it was funny, but they don't get it..... Actually they probably do. But whatever.

So, I thought I'd end the year with a nice drunk post. This will probably be the last one of these for a while, and who doesn't like a nice drunken stream of consciousness ramble written by somebody you don't know, right?? Am I right??

I thought about doing some kind of 2011 Year in Review, which isn't really a bad idea, and I'll get to that, but first... check this shit out:

Check out how fucking chatty I am!!! And that's also keeping in mind that I only started this piece of shit blog in MAY of 2010. Seriously? I'm a fucking chatty bitch. But you knew that, otherwise you wouldn't have come back. This is just another example of how I impress myself with my fantastic bullshitting abilities. I did that shit 779 times in the last year and a half bitches. HA HA HA!!! YES!!!!!!

Anyhoozle, back to the whole year in review crap, I thought I might list for you my 5 Favorite Posts of 2011 That I Wrote. AI'm not going to tell you shit about what other people wrote, because I'm apparently too selfish and/or drunk and/or out of time for that, so anyway. These are my favorites. If I was forced to pick an anthology (is "anthology" a real word?) of the 5 best posts that were awesome (in my opinion) that I happened to write, in 2011, these are the ones. So.... yeah.

Hope you all clicked on that shit because that shit is gold. GOLD.

Okay, a story real quick: You know how Child 2 likes to watch You Tube Walkthroughs of people playing Mario related games? Well, yesterday he was very sad and he came to me and said that he was having a good deal of trouble getting through this one point and can we please write to Yoshiller2 and ask him to make a walkthrough of this one part so that we can figure out how to do it?

Well, obviously I had some qualms about him writing to random YouTube people, so I used my own YouTube account and I wrote to the guy and I said "Hi, this is Child 2 and I'm 6 and I was wondering if you could make a video of such and such at this point in Mario whatever blah blah blah" obviously I didn't know what the fuck I was saying... and then we sent it off and I told him that it was pretty likely that he would be disappointed and please don't get your hopes up and all that.

Well, about an hour later, I got an email from the dude we wrote to that said "I did that already, but I don't remember what I called it" I'm paraphrasing, but that doesn't matter so I told Child 2 what he said, and Child 2 says to Child 1: "Do you remember the video that starts at blah blah blah and then the blah blah blah and it ends with blah blah blah?" and Child 1 says "Yeah, that's part 46."

And it was.

Seriously? Seriously. So I wrote to the dude and I said "this is Child 2's mom and I just want to thank you so much for your response, you've made my kid's entire year." and he responded "no problem :) "

And on that note? It's the little things you do that might make the entire day or month or year for one person, so do them. Do them again and again because we have no idea how much of an impact we can make by our very small gestures.

Also? Child 1 does not like the anticipation of waiting to say Happy New Year. He asked me to say it early so that he wouldn't have to wait for the countdown. I fucking love that kid.

"I fucking love that kid." Let that be the last drunken thing I ever say on this blog.

I am so, so sorry

In the last few weeks I have seen numerous tweets that have attempted to direct me to blog posts. They were drawings that people have done, or awards that have been given out... and I think that I've pretty much ignored them all.

So, I wanted to apologize to all of you guys who have tried to get me to go somewhere and then I didn't. It's not because I don't care, and it's certainly not because I don't have the time (seriously. I've got nothing going on right now). It's just because I'm stupid. I have a bad memory and these things go by my timeline and then I forget. Because I'm dumb. No, really. That's why.

It's important to me that you all know that I'm not one of those people who thinks she's too cool to pay any attention to anybody who doesn't have at least 2,000 twitter followers. I am so not that person; in fact, I fucking hate people like that. I think it's rude, it's uncool, it's bad fucking karma. I am not cooler than anybody, and if you have tried to get me to look at something and I didn't look at it, PLEASE tell me again. I saw your tweet, I did, but then 2 seconds went by and I forgot to hit "favorite" and then it was all gone. And I hope that, in the future, when I am a dumbass again and I forget to do things again, you guys will read this again and please don't take it personally.

In other words.. it's not you, it's me. Wait. That sounded wrong. IT'S ME. I SWEAR IT IS. But in the bad way.

And on that note, here is my new self portrait, just like I told Jennifer and Lisa I would do.

The thin line beyond which you really can't fake

EDIT: Link to purchase Grateful Dead snuggie

Drunk blogging is fun. Also? I AM VERY EMPHATIC SOMETIMES AND I USE ALL CAPS TO EXPRESS THAT.

Okay, so, I was thinking... you know what I haven't done in a while? Gotten drunk and just started typing. Why haven't I done that? Probably because... okay, I don't know. But surely there's a reason. Anyway, here we are. I'll be typing this post in stages this evening. At this point it's relatively early and I'm being very conscious about my spelling and grammar and making sure there are no extra punctuation marks in the middle of my words. But, I dig;ress....

There are a number of very interesting things I would like to share with you fine people on this fine evening. Is it really "fine," though? What does "fine" mean, anyway? What does it mean to be "fine," exactly? Also? Uh, oh what I want to know..... oh oh, is are you.... well, you know the rest. Or you don't. If you do, though, you're cool. If not... just move on.

Speaking of which, today I was wearing my Jerry Day t-shirt, and I was walking into a store on Solano Ave in Berkeley to buy a present for my Secret Santa giftee (by the way, Secret Santa? I see you here. Did you know I made this for you? That's the problem with being downvoted into oblivion, if you make a post specifically for one person they will probably never see it. So look at that post. LOOK AT IT!) and this random dude stopped me and said "hey, is that Jerry? I'm really into trivia and I was the only person at the bar the other night who got this question right: What was the original name of the Grateful Dead?" I answered it right and he was pleased and walked away. Do you know the answer? Tell me the answer and win a prize. No, really.

OH, and speaking of THAT.... OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. Okay, almost exactly a year ago, I posted this. THIS. CLICK ON THE FUCKING THING. And now? Almost a year later?  LOOK WHAT I GOT TODAY. LOOK. LOOOOOK AAAAAT IIIIIITTTT:

That's me, bitches. THAT'S FUCKING ME. Wearing a motherfucking Grateful Dead snuggie!!!! By the way, that's the closest you'll ever get to seeing what I look like. ENJOY THE BOOB, MOTHERFUCKERS.

Anyhoozle-ini, do you guys ever think about friends you used to have but don't anymore? I have this person who used to be my friend, a really good friend, actually, and we're not friends anymore, for various complicated reasons, and the other night she popped up in my dream and said to me "hey let's be friends again!" and in my dream I was really happy about that and then I woke up and knew that this would never happen, because of those complicated reasons I mentioned earlier, even though I still see her practically every day at this point I have no idea how to even make it happen again and she hates me, anyway, so even so we'll never be friends again besides there's too much baggage going on there, but still, it was nice to be friends with her again in my dream. Does that ever happen to you? No? Huh. Okay! Let's move on....

Hey you know what's a cool word? Spigot. Doesn't it kind of seem like a racial slur? You fucking spigot! I hate that fucking spigot! Yeah, but it's not. It's just a cool word. And when hubs comes here and reads this, maybe he'll explain it to you. Then again maybe he won't. When he leaves a comment, though, his name will be thesmos. LOOK FOR HIM.

And now I will end this awesome post with the following song that I think you should listen to because this song fucking kicks more ass than most songs that have ever been made into songs.

Jackie Greene, Gone Wanderin'

Okay, so!

Any questions?

What does "smo" mean, anyway?

Many of you were confused by my logo yesterday, and only a handful of you actually got the reference. That disappoints me. Very much. I can only assume, as I often do, is that you all fucked it up so badly because you're just too young to understand my ancient references. Whatever, youngsters. I bet you have perky boobs, too. WHATEVER. (bitch). The "extra points" that were promised, however, goes to K from Two Adults, One Brown Baby who can also be found on Twitter at TwoAdults. (I'm not sure, exactly, what the points get you. Maybe you can cash them in at the jillsmo store at some future date? Well, in any case, hold onto your points in case something like that happens. FYI: You might be holding onto those points for a really long time and I can't guarantee that they won't get moldy and gross after a while....)

Anyhoozle.... The purpose of the reference wasn't necessarily the "smo" part of it; it was the rest that was important, but a lot of you got stuck on the smo of it all, so I thought I'd explain. And no, I'm not going to tell you the answer to the Circle Smo reference if you didn't get it. Ask K!

So.... have you ever noticed that my name is jillsmo? Many of you probably say that in your head as "jillz-mo" as in, "Jill has a Mo and she's not afraid to use it." (I do, actually... and I'm not. But that's not important right now).
I HAVE ONE OF THESE AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT

No, the truth behind my username is much more complicated and uninteresting than me simply owning a Mo and knowing how to use it. My username is actually the condensed version of Jill (my motherfucking NAME) and the word Smo. What is a "smo," you ask? Well. I'll tell you!

See, when hubs and I first met, we liked to drink (snicker). And when we first moved in together, we got ourselves a bunch of cats: Cassidy, the fucking insane-ass calico who didn't live past 5 months or so, because she was fucking crazy and we lived on a really busy street. (You can probably guess how that ended up :(). Indica, but we called him The Big Guy, and his brother Sativa, who we called The Little Guy (do you see what we did there?? No? Okay, I'll draw you another picture.....)

You see, dear readers, there used to be a time, before kids, that I actually liked cats. It seems like forever ago, and actually it was. It was about 18 years ago. That's forever, right? Anyway, we loved our cats, and our "pet" name for them was "Smo." Why were they called smo? Well, that's related to the sentence above where I say that hubs and I "used to" like to drink. Any questions? No? Okay, moving on....

So, back in 1993 or 4 or whatever 199 it was, I got a big-ass awesome new computer (THANK YOU STEVE JOBS). One day, I was at work and hubs was setting up my 1200 baud modem (OH MY GOD IT WAS SO FAST) and he called me to say that he was creating an America Online account for me, and what did I want my username to be? Little did I know that this particular decision would literally define the rest of my online life. Literally. DEFINE.

We went through a few options and none of them were available, and then I had to go do work stuff or something, so he was like "what about Jill Smo?" and I was like "yeah, whatever, make it happen."

And that's how Jill Smo was born: A simple lack of time and imagination. Years later when Child 1 was a baby and I decided to sign up for the message boards at ComedyCentral.com because I wanted to complain to Jon Stewart about Likes it Rough Elmo, I needed a username in order to make a post. (also so that I could tell that fucker rards how SO VERY WRONG he was about a potential war in Iraq. OH MY GOD HE WAS SO WRONG.) I needed to think of something QUICK so I picked my old faithful Jill Smo. Except it wouldn't let me use a space or capital letters, so I shortened it to jillsmo.

(Have I mentioned how SO VERY WRONG rards was about the war in Iraq?)

(SO WRONG.)

Anyway, that was almost 10 years ago, and I've kept the name because it's just how people know me online.

And... that explains everything.

*cough*

A birthday post

So, we're playing Rock Band... because it's my birthday... and for my birthday I want to play Rock Band... and then this happened.....

You see what I did there? I scored #57 in the entire world of all the people who play Rock Band and sing Love is a Battlefield. I'm actually rather proud of that. I mean, I don't know exactly how many other people I'm competing against here in the Rock Band leaderboard world, but there has to be a lot, right? And here I scored #57 of all those people. I think that's cool. That's cool! Just accept it!! IT'S COOL. I'M ACTUALLY VERY PROUD OF MYSELF, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Anyhoozle, you know who is seriously underrated? Billy Joel? BILLY JOEL!! Why don't more people love him? Why?? Because "more people" are too fucking young, is the problem, in my opinion. I think. "More people" just don't get the brilliance of Mr. Joel. Because he's awesome. So very very awesome.

OH MY GOD. This song fucking kills me. KILLS ME. I love Billy Joel. I want more than anything to meet him, in person, and tell him how fucking awesome I think he is. That will never happen, but that's okay. None of us, ever, get to meet our heroes, really, do we? Okay, I get that. And yet, here we are.

Okay! So, let's talk about my birthday for a moment. As I write this, it's about 30 minutes past midnight, so it's technically not my birthday anymore, but we don't care about technicalities, do we? Did I spell that right? There's no red line underneath it, so I'm going to assume it's spelled right. Anyway, what was my point. OH RIGHT. One of my prize winners from my quiz had requested a birthday post. She said I'm a good storyteller. I thought maybe she was thinking of somebody else, but then I emailed her and she wrote back and huh. She was actually talking about me. Anyway, she requested a birthday post, and here it is! Me, writing a post on my birthday. Probably not what she had in mind, but then again, this isn't the actual prize giving post, so maybe nobody will notice.

SHHHHHH.......

Okay, so..... my point is as follows: Okay, well, Liza, I'm sorry, this isn't your prize, because obviously this sucks and it's a sucky prize if it were a prize, but good thing it's not because it sucks. You know who you are!

My SECOND point is that.... if you haven't already taken my birthday test, you need to take my birthday test. Remember! It's anonymous! And such. And it makes me happy to see that you've taken it. And don't you want to make me happy? The question alone makes me sleepy. And gassy.

Also click here.

And then visit this site, because she's cool and I like her. So you should like her, too. And stop questioning me!!! Also, she got the worst fucking score on my test. OMG she sucked so bad! HA HA HA HA HA H!!!!! She got, like, ONE question right! But, seriously, I love her and she's awesome.... so... yeah.

And then take the test. Because I said so.

P.S. I apologize for whatever it was I said above. It's my birthday and I'm (obviously) drunk and I didn't proof read before I hit "Publish Post." Don't judge me.....

ALSO: TAKE THE TEST. BECAUSE YOU'RE AWESOME. AND IT'S OPEN BOOK!!!

Promises were made of a vacational nature

Ha ha, no. No vacation-related promises were made. I just like to rip off the Simpsons whenever I can. YAY!

HOWEVER.... I did promise the other day that if you put your hate in the comments of my post, I would pick the best one and that person would win a prize. And since I am a woman of my word, or at least, I'm trying to convince you all right now that I'm a woman of my word, I have chosen a comment. I mean... I pinky swore! And you can't pinky swear and then not follow through.... that's just bad karma.

AND SO AS SUCH I have chosen a triumpher (I may have just made that word up) and will bestow a prize, accordingly. *clear throat* ... My winner is Heather! Who blogs at Expect This. She can also be found on Twitter as Rogue Toddler. Heather wins for 2 reasons:

1. She called Curious George a "dirty fucking monkey;" and

2. She referred to Tuck from the Wonder Pets as "the pussy turtle."

That kind of profanity and/or awesomeness should be rewarded, in my opinion. However, before I bestow the greatest prize ever given, can we please take a moment to appreciate this gem, which I found on Heather's blog just now?

Are you kidding me?? THAT'S PURE GOLD RIGHT THERE. Okay, so... Heather! Here is your prize, which I swear is the greatest prize ever given. I SWEAR IT IS.

Nice work, Heather. Nice fucking work.

rock band singing expert points

I wrote this post on Saturday night when I was drunk and have only edited it for the (many, and often hilarious) typos..... hee hee.....

What? My post title is confusing to you? Well, I typed it that way because if you were doing a Google search for this particular issue that's pissing me off, those are probably the terms you would use. SO, maybe if other people did this, they might find me. And be able to help me. So this post isn't necessarily for you, my loyal and wonderful readers... this post is for The Whole Internetz.

(This is not actually me singing, this is a video I found online)

Because, you see, I need help. I've been working on this same song over and over and over and I can't for the life of me figure out what the fuck I'm supposed to be doing differently to make my score better than what it is. But because I'm stupidly competitive in that weird way that we're all aware of I guess, I can't let it go, so I keep trying and trying and trying and trying and always getting pretty much the same result. Only 2,804 more points to get to #13 on the Leaderboard.

First try. Only 2,804 to get to #13! Awesome!

Second try. 1,028 more points and, uh... only 2,804 to get to #13? HUH?

Because Fuck You Rock Band. I don't know what you want from me. I've done the same fucking song again and again and I do it "perfectly" every time, and yet, apparently, I don't do it up to your standards. At least not well enough to do any better than I've done all the last times. And it's pissing me off. What am I supposed to be doing differently??? How do you get more points here? What do you want from me, Rock Band?

#1 has 4,560 more points than I do. HOW? HOW??????????

How the fuck do I do better than I have done? I've sat here in my TV room, by myself I might add, because there's no bass part and hubs got bored... and I've done this song again and again and again AND AGAIN AND AGAIN and I can't do any better than I've done.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? OH MY GOD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME.

EDIT: Related

Ok. This is the last time I'm going to ask. I SWEAR IT IS.

So, yeah. You guys helped me make it past the first part of the (very sad) Consolation Round of Q's Blogger Tournament. Thanks, guys!! You're so awesome!! Now I'm in the finals and OMG! I'M SO SORRY!! I have to ask you, once again, to click (ha ha, I first typed "cluck") and then click again.

I PROMISE you this is the last time I'll ask you to vote for me on something (for now).

I promise you.

And, to prove it, I'd like to call your attention to the number SIX over there in the sidebar. See how I just let that happen? Yeah, I saw that shit happening and I said nothing. I did not ask you to help me, I did not call your attention to this problem, and I am NOT doing that right now. We're just going to watch me fall. And, it's cool! No, I'm serious. Ever since Kris dropped out, it just hasn't been that interesting to me. PLUS I'm happy that my friend Susan is climbing up the ranks, once again. Go Susan, go!!

Okay, anyway, my point is this: Go here. And Vote. For me. And I SWEAR I won't ask again. SERIOUSLY. I promise!!!!

Well, now that's changed, because I've spent the last hour(?) arranging and rearranging my Google reader thingybob and NOW you guys are SCREWED because I'm going to be commenting over at your places ALL THE TIME. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!! *cough*

Oh, yeah, I really need some sleep......

If you were born on this day 21 years ago

Then you can legally drink now in California. Congratulations!!

On the other hand, 21 years ago tonight, I went to my first Grateful Dead show. So, I thought I'd tell the story. Why not, right? I KNOW! Too bad it's not very interesting. Maybe you can tell your own story in the comments?

So, I had this boyfriend in college... blah blah blah.... I actually thought I was going up to just visit him in the Bay Area; I was living in Santa Barbara at the time. But, since I had never been to a show before, I didn't know what I was really in for. So, he brought me to the Oakland Coliseum on December 30, 1989. He had a ticket, and of course I didn't, except I'm pretty sure I got miracled that night (meaning, somebody gave me a ticket for free) but, maybe not, because NYE shows are impossible to get tickets for, so who would have miracled me? I don't know, it was a long time ago. Anyway, I made it inside.

My purpose for the evening, however, wasn't to go to a show, because I had no idea what that even meant. All I knew of the Grateful Dead was Touch of Grey, which was okay, I guess, but a little poppy (poppie?).  My purpose, on that day, was to find and take some Ecstasy... which I very much succeeded at doing. YAY! So, we went inside, and found ourselves a seat up in the bleachers or something, I don't know, and all I remember was looking at this giant crowd of people and saying "oooohhhh myyyy goooodddddd...... look at all the peeeooppllllleeeee" and being just so impressed at the size of the crowd. I'm pretty sure my boyfriendatthetime wasn't as impressed as I was. Okay, he had been there before. Whatever. It was new to me; and awesome. So awesome. I didn't even know the music, but the music was so awesome. SO AWESOME. It was only until I tried it again at the next set of shows that I realized it wasn't just the drugs that was making it awesome; it was just awesome.

Here's the setlist. Most of you won't care. Some of you will care a smidge:
Oakland Coliseum, Oakland CA (12/30/89)

Bertha
Good Lovin'
Sugaree
Walkin' Blues
Jack-a-Roe
Masterpiece
West L.A. Fadeaway
Music Never Stopped

Jack Straw
China Cat Sunflower
I Know You Rider
Estimated Prophet
Terrapin Station
drums
I Will Take You Home
The Other One
Standing on the Moon
One More Saturday Night

Baby Blue
Anyway, that was the beginning of almost 6 years of bliss. I wish I had gone sooner. I'd had the chance, but I didn't know what was waiting for me so I'd opted out. I was dumb. I miss it. Go listen if you don't believe me.

Drunk blogging 4tw

I've been thinking about this blogging thing that I do. That's what I do, you know, I think. I have a constant ongoing conversation with myself going on in my head at all times about everything that I've ever thought about in my entire life. By the way, I'd like a show of hands, please, from everybody that I know: how many times have you received an email from me that starts with "I've been thinking...." I bet there are a lot of you. Oh, wait, though, not very many people I "know" read this blog, ever since I stopped posting things to Facebook, and I stopped doing that the day my mom told me "I always stop reading after the first 'fuck' or 'shit' It's.... embarrassing...." Hey, thanks Mom! You've always been so supportive in the past, this is exactly what I expecting this time! Anyway, moving on....

I've been thinking about this blogging thing that I do. I've talked about this before, but I don't feel like hunting those posts down, so just take my word for it. It's weird, this blogging thing. I take what's in my head and I type it out, and then other people read it, and then they comment, or they don't. It's weird. The only thing that I've ever done that's similar is to type out long, rambling emails to friends that they either don't respond to or they say "Oh, yeah, hey, that's GREAT!" Yeah, you're nuts. (show of hands?) It's strange, because I'm not a writer, and yet that's what I do here, every day. When I say "I'm not a writer" I don't mean "I'm a bad writer," I mean it just doesn't come naturally to me, it's hard, it's not something I do. I'm not freelancing for some paper; I'm not working on a book, like so many other bloggers are, it's just not something that I do. It's not like when I say "I'm not a teacher," because when I say THAT I mean "I'm a shitty teacher." One thing I AM good at, though, is talking, and also typing, and this blog is just the combination of the two.

Okay, so, what was my point? I have no idea, but I'll continue. Hey, you know what I'm doing right now? Smoking. In my kitchen. That's totally unheard of most of the time, except right now it's okay because the kids aren't here. They're still in Tahoe. And since I'm the one who makes the rules about this kind of thing, it's totally cool if I break them. HA HA HA HA.

Hey, you know who's cool? Hubs. I would show you his picture but he would never be okay with that. Okay, so, here's a likeness:

I KNOW, right?? That's totally what he looks like, for the most part. So, anyway, he works his fucking ass off at this job that he hates, at this place that sucks, but he does it for his family even though he hates it, and I don't tell him enough how much I appreciate that. I need to tell him that him person, rather than him reading it here. He hates it when he reads stuff here before I tell him about it. I can understand that.

Okay, so, anyway, I've been thinking about this blogging thing that I do. Actually I think about it way too much, almost like everything I now do has become fodder for what I might talk about here. It's kind of lame, really. The truth is.... I had to look up the word "fodder" to see if I was using it right. I think I'm okay. These words come to my head and I'm not entirely sure if I know what they mean. I think I lucked out this time.

Okay, so, if you were expecting a point to any of this, I'm sorry to disappoint you because there is no point. I mean, you read the title of this post, what did you expect? However, check out this video I just found; can you imagine ever being so awesome? I can't. YAY Jerry!
