Dear @AnnCoulter: This is who you insult with your words

Dear Ann Coulter:

I don't post pictures of my kids or of myself here, but if I did, now would be the time where I would show you a picture of my beautiful child, who is autistic. I would show you his picture and I would tell you that when you call people "retard," it is my child, and the adults in the disabled community who help guide his way, that you are insulting with your hate speech. My child, who is sweet and kind and is 1,000 times a better person than you are.

I don't post pictures of my kids or of myself, but my friends do, so I'm putting a linky below for anybody who wants to post a picture of themselves or of their child with special needs, and then link up below so that everybody can see exactly who it is you're insulting with your hateful ugliness.

Ugh she's just an awful person. (If I had a special needs child, I'd totally participate in the linkup)

She is the worst. Who is she even referring to? Our President?

I just tweeted her a picture of Moe. I'm sure there will be trolls aplenty, but I don't care.

I linked up too. I don't follow American politics but this is wrong, so so wrong.
How dare that bitch talk about the President using hate language! What an utter lack of respect!

And, as you've pointed out Jill, she not only is being disrespectful to the President, but also to many of our kids.

Ann Coulter is a hateful person. She just proves this time and again. I wish people would stop buying her stupid books. She doesn't deserve any attention.

I just tweeted her @AnnCoulter R U really that insensitive? U should know better? My 14 y/o knows better, so y don't you? I am behind in so many things and recovering from bronchitis this week, but I will be glad to RT any and all of your posts.
That woman is so repulsive in so many ways.

So disgusting, thanks for starting the link up Jill.
My recent post Dear Ann Coulter
Thank you for posting this! It's absolutely disgusting!! My nephew has tourettes, ADHD, and Aspergers. I have a cousin with Aspergers and another nephew with severe ADHD. My son has a condition called Ptosis which makes his eye look a bit deformed. Ann Coulter should watch her language and her back...
You are so right, Jill. It doesn't matter who we're going to vote for, Ann Coulter needs to be out of a job.
Our "President" let FOUR, FOUR Americans die, took our deficit to new realms, & put our economy in huge jeopardy & you are worried about her choice of "wording" that doesn't directly affect you???? Do I agree with her? NO!! But why are we more worried about this than what is really going on in our country??? She will never change! Ever! No one is any better than she is when you come here or anywhere else and bash her & call her a bitch or whatever else you can think of!

because we are not all listening to Hannity and Faux news to decide what is really happening. Your decision to listen to this faction for your facts speaks for itself. Your decision to assume he "let" anyone die screams your bias. This is someone who could have handed you a home, world peace and a million dollars and you would complain that he didn't also wash your car. he was never going to do enough for you, so stop pretending there is anything unbiased in your interpretation of what he has done.
Heather, the reason we are all so concerned about what Ann Coulter said is because of people who, like you, don't exercise their own critical thinking or analytical reasoning skills but choose to parrot back whatever mainstream media feeds them as fact. If you believe that President Obama - alone - caused deaths, a stagnating economy or any other thing about which you might complain, you need to do a little more research than parking yourself in front of a TV for 30 minutes a night. I suggest starting by reading the Constitution. As in, the actual document. It's okay. You can google it.

There are far too many educated people in this country who believe whatever they read in a newspaper or see on television. And your presumption that Coulter's use of "retard" as an insult does not "directly affect" the writer of this post or any of her commenters is wishful thinking at best but probably just plain ignorant. Unless you've walked a few steps - let alone a mile - in our collective shoes, you truly ought to keep your judgment to yourself.

And Bush allowed thousands upon thousands of Americans die in a war that never should have existed and he started over his declaration of imaginary 'weapons of mass destruction'. What is your point, Heather? This blog is about special needs. About what we face on a near daily (if not DAILY) basis out in society. That woman is a feces stain on the bottom of mankind's underwear and all you have the nerve to do is come here and slam Obama? Take that to the political pages!

Separating the political from the personal...because this blog is very personal, I feel...Ann Coulter is a grown woman who claims to be a classy professional and time and time again she has proven she's not. This is not the first time she has used this word and it won't be the last.

And the word does directly affect us! Because it encourages others to use the word. It lets people think it's okay. What's next? Granting permission to people who can walk right up to our kids and use the word? If you can't see how this affects the special needs community and society in general, you need to take off your rose coloured glasses! It's easy to see why so many of us feel it is personal.
So you can bash Ann Coulter but I can't say anything about the President??? I get it! I understand that this is personal! I have many friends that have special needs children! BUT I have NEVER seem them bash another human being for their OPINION!!!! By the way, I don't have rose colored glasses on! All I see is an America that is in trouble in more ways than one!!'

Heather, it's one thing to have an opinion, but you are focusing one the WRONG THING.

Whether you like or agree with the president or not is completely irrelevant to the subject. What matters is Coulter used VERY OFFENSIVE language to describe not only him, but countless other people in this country. All the things you CLAIM the president is solely responsible for (which is ludicrous) is besides the point; you DO NOT SAY such words to anyone, including hte president.

Maybe bitch was a strong word to use but retard is too. They are human beings and have feeling like the rest of us.
Can I link up even if my kids are neuro-typical? This insults them, too.

The sad part is the people she is refering to is smarter than her.
If she had used the word "nigger" we wouldn't be having this conversation--she would simply be fired and no longer given any airtime. The fact that all she will get from this, using a word that is JUST AS OFFENSIVE, is a a slap on the wrist, and even MORE airtime shows that our country has no care for the differently abled.

THIS is what is wrong with America. THIS right here. The fact that no one can see that.
I try not to say this much, but I hate that woman. She's AWFUL and I cannot believe she said such a thing. I don't have a special needs child, but if I did I'd be all over this with you. I hope everyone is tweeting their posts directly to her!
My recent post SOC: Uncomfortable
She's a disgusting individual who isn't intelligent enough to have an actual opinion, she only knows how to spread hate by disrespecting all people with special needs. Very upsetting! Here is my sweet boy with Autism.
i linked up. i don't personally care for her at all and i wasn't surprised at her language. she is so extreme in many ways and im sure she and her supporters will just say we're all a bunch of over-sensitive liberal parents who take the politically correct bandwagon to extremes. in doing so, they will (as usual) miss the whole point... you know, the point about being a human being with... i don't know... compassion.
My recent post GOOD one Ms. Coulter!
Dear Jillsmo,

I really enjoyed your post. I'm not sure why it is socially acceptable to equate things like disabilities, weight, etc. with undesirable aspects of character. It IS hate speech, although I think Ann Coulter and her followers would accuse you of political correctness for such an argument. Even though it isn't.

Thanks for speaking out.

I am shocked to hear a comment like this coming from such an educated woman. Obviously you are not in touch with people who have or know special need children and their parents and medical staff that work with them
If she was in the Wizard Of Oz, she's be a cross between the Tin Man AND Scarecrow. Heartless and Brainless.

The Scarecrow and the Tin Man, despite claiming to posses neither, each had BOTH IN SPADES in every word and action.

No, Coulter is the Wicked Witch. While how she looks may be dependent on who you ask, her inner ugliness seeps through with every word uttered.
Ann also tweeted this: Obama: "Stage 3 Romneysia" - because cancer references are HILARIOUS. If he's "the smartest guy in the room" it must be one retarded room.

The hypocrisy contained in this tweet is, just...well it's exactly what I expect from a disgusting sub human like Ann.
