What is the deal with Brenda and those apples?

Child 2 and I are looking over his homework and he reads out loud the following:

His response? Much like you would expect any precocious 7 year old to say, I think:

"She sold some apples because she had way too many apples, she actually needed to sell more than 350. 753 is a lifetime supply of apples, she really didn't need more than, say, 10, and even that is a lot."

Yes, that answer is perfect, and perhaps a far more valuable life lesson than the mathematical one! :)

I dont know, I think Brenda's a few apples short of an orchard. ;)

Y'know, I think you might be right.
Sounds like Brenda's working for a sweatshop. That's a lot of mother-f-in apples that she had to pick.

We all know Brenda isn't really giving away those apples. Hoarder.

Ha ha ha!!! That's so my kid! We get a whole "logical" response from him each week while he's doing his math problems......the problem is, I'm just as bad, because I usually have a snarky answer in my head while I'm helping him do the word problems! *Ü*
That's so awesome! And of course, he's perfectly right. Nobody needs more than 10 apples. And that IS still a lot. Cool kid.
I love his answer. He's right. I'd totally accept that answer. And I'm a teacher, so I'm basically an expert.
