Out of the mouths of babes 11. Again.

This is a repost. I was looking through my Out of the Mouths of Babes series, which I haven't done in a while, and I think this one is probably my favorite. This kid is nuts, man. NUTS. I don't know where he gets that from.

So, I'm in the kitchen making dinner and I'm holding a spatula. Child 2 appears and says "Mama! What's for dinner? Wait, before you tell me, I want to feel that spatula." He comes over, touches the spatula and says "feels good. Okay, what's for dinner?"

Okay. So, admittedly I had to do a quick double-take because I thought that spatula was a pregnancy test. And my brain was all like, "what...whoa...why is that pregnancy test red...OOOOH." So, I'm gonna go have another cup of coffee. And yeah, I'm a big fan of spatulas too.

I like it when my teenager does her baking with spatulas. Licking chocolate off of them is comforting.

I'm weird
So, he's not a multi-tasker. He can't feel a spatula and find out what's for dinner at the same time.

if he had guessed what was for dinner after feeling it, you woulda had a psychic kid on your hands.

Also, you need to tape some of this stuff and put it on youtube. For realsies

It's true...there's something about spatulas.

That is flippin' hilarious. I need to just start a notebook devoted to the absolute random hilarity that comes out of their mouths. My 2yo came to me yesterday fully dressed but missing her pants/undies and let me know she was ready to go check out the sewer. What the wha?

I love the things kids say. They are innocent, intelligent, inquizative and imaginative. It is sad that more parents/people don't pay better attention. We can learn so much from them. Thank you for sharing. Peace.
omg im cracking up reading this. I love touching the rubber spatula's too!! Mine is very smooth and flexible lol
My recent post Eternal Perseverance. My brain hurts.
About six months ago my son, 6, walked into the kitchen and said "Mom, I'm really feeling like to crack eggs right now". And I was all "wha? no", and then three days later I found a bowl in the corner of the playroom with a couple of cracked eggs. In a bowl. In the playroom. Raw, cracked, eggs. EW.

Kids are just weird.
kids ARE weird. love it.
