Whitney Houston R.I.P.

Goddammit. I don't know how she died or what the circumstances were, I don't read tabloids or care about gossip, but goddammit!!!!!!! She was only 48, and one of the greatest singers who ever fucking lived.

People always used to make fun of this song, but I remember being in college and watching this video and being fucking completely blown away at the way her jaw would shake with the rhythm of her vibrato and just wishing that I had that kind of talent, even if just for a second of my life.

Not fair, man. Fuck.

That song reminds me of my college boyfriend. Such a sad thing to lose a talent.

I'm just hoping people remember her voice and music, and not the drug use at the end.

Well I can tell you with complete certainty that I will remember her voice and her music and I really didn't know anything about the drug use. Like I said, I'm not really interested in gossip so I don't keep current on the habits of famous people, I don't think it's really relevant to how awesome they were as artists. I feel the same way about Amy Winehouse. And Janis Joplin. And whoever else that I can't think of right now because I can't stop crying.....
....Jerry Garcia. Jimi Hendrix. Jim Morrison. Elvis Presley. Johhny Cash. Patsy Cline. And on it goes.....
My recent post Autism isn't a big deal, right? Wait, can you answer that later? I'm watching Adventure Time right now, and it's my favorite show.
I just showed my daughter this video and said, "THIS! This is a voice!" I loved this song too. It's so sad that she's gone, she had such a gift. My heart goes out to her family, especially her daughter. Tragic.
Well put, lady.

Thanks for putting pen to paper, or whatever the computer equivalent to that is.

Loved her so much. Blinding talent and beauty. And I know you rocked that frizzy bob circa 1989.

And to think. Now all we have is Bobby Brown.

I remember that mOvie. The fire I'n her eyes. Always singing that song trying to reach the same notes and failing miserably. So sad :(

Such a huge waste. Very sad.
I love your heart.
My first memories of her wasn't as a singer. They were as a model. I remember her being on the cover of my 17 magazine when I was 17! She was the only African-American model they used in those days.

So very sad. She had such a beautiful voice. I was amazed at the way she was able to control her voice. Not an easy task. And she meant and felt what she sang.
She was such a big influence on my life. I was so sad to hear of her passing. I'm working on a post myself to pay tribute, it will be up later tonight.
It still seems so bizarre that she's gone. I thought the Grammy's handled it very well. I did my first jazz dance to I Wanna Dance With Somebody. I've been singing it in my head ever since I heard the news.
My recent post a valentine from my sponsor
