Things I Find In My House VI

Child 1 goes through these phases where he draws something again and again and again. He goes through reams of paper and buckets of markers. People who work in offices with me are used to giving me all of their one-sided white paper (it HAS to be white paper) so that I can take it home for him. It is not unusual for me to find a pile of 20-30 pieces of paper in a pile on my desk, all with the same thing drawn on it, and all having been produced in about a 30 minute period.

Right now he draws BART tracks. The dudes you see above were a phase he went through a few years ago. I have no idea what they are or why they're so adorable; I haven't seen them in a long time, though. I just found this in the back of a drawer as I was doing laundry. What's funny about this is that it was drawn on the back of the "2008-2009 PTA Budget."

Barely even worth the paper it was printed on
To me? Those eyes scream, "Take me to Target!" (and crap - now I have to vote three times when I come here?! - Still worth it! )

I'm totally doing it.
I agree with solodialogue! That is hilarious!

Cute! My son goes through drawing phases too....skeletons, then pirates, the ghosts (he's a little obsessed with Halloween).

My girls do the same thing; we go through hundreds of pages a week.
I think those dudes are on some killer drugs. Can you send me some? I need to have my mind blown for a little while. It has been a really rough weekend! :(
Yep! Julia and Coleman too. Although Coleman really ONLY draws Sonic and goes through spurts where he doesn't draw at all, but Julia? REAMS of paper! She would color and draw all day if she could!

Those are very cute pictures! Do you have an artist on your hands????!!!! I have my 2 year old paint with water color, I stick them in frames, and give them as gifts or hang them as art work, they are actually very good! Check out my blog in the near future for some pics :)

Jesus, you're competitive!

Oh, and those little guys are seriously adorable. You should hire someone to make them into plush toys. You can call them crazy eyes and they'll be the next big thing.

One of mine did years of Sesame Street video titles, then Sesame Street Episode numbers (4,000 & counting), all in printers' ink (ouch$), then suddenly illustrated -- kind of storyboard-style -- an entire Cookie Monster song. You never know what you're going to encounter, which is what makes our lives never boring or dull, eh?
I know this is a very old post, but I love it! Love the eyes and I have to tell you, now I know where your artistic talent comes from - Child 1 passed it on to you!

Again this is an old post but the picture intrigued me lol

Tommy does this. Always has. Now he prints them. From the computer. Over and over. I have a folder with about 100 printouts of the same picture of sonic the hedgehog that stays in his backpack. REAMS of paper. I can't understand it.

Dude, sometimes, it's like you're writing about me. A girl in my neighborhood actually got *mad* at me once because after she showed me a diary her mom got her, I drew the rose on the front of it over...and over...and over...and over... I was 9 or 10 then. Even in high school - junior year - I would still get into those phases. Just about every notebook page for school had a certain kind of eye drawn it several times. It actually really interfered with my ability to pay attention, because I had to keep drawing these things.
